CRITIQUES WANTED - Dylan Dump

Description

For more than 4 years, I've been fiddling with this one character, trying to get him right, but almost every time I find something I like, it can't be replicated at more than a few angles. Have a look at the previous iterations.

And that's just the one's you guys have seen. I probably got a ton of sketches hidden somewhere of more designs, but obviously they went nowhere.

This little project is threefold:

#1: Practice character design and shape building.
#2: End up with an actual, final, consistent design for Dylan.

These are the progress sketches I've made with the help of some Minus World members, giving me critiques and inching me closer to my goal. Now I want more, so I'm posting this on DA. Here's a walkthrough of them, and I want ANY AND ALL CRITIQUES ON ANY OF THESE DESIGNS.

- Head and body sketches. The first little sketches to get me going and see where it leads.
- After some critiques on it (mostly about the generic character silhouette) I did four different designs of Dylan in profile. The top two aren't that great, the bottom two are much improved, but I much prefer the bottom right.
- a little spine/pose look at my previous colored attempt, which looked nice, though some artists noticed that it went with a more angular design that actually wouldn't make sense in 3D, which is usually the problem with these designs.
- An attempt to make it work in 3D. It's a mixed bag, but it leads to the next two sections.
- This design uses the body of the colored drawing, but with more prominent shoulders. I'm not sure I like it though.
- Same as above, only with a larger head to keep things cartoony. I changed up the shoulders again this time.
- Attempting a different default pose with the arms resting on his belly, as generally happens when animals stand on their hind legs. I also altered the head so you can actually see his other eye, a pitfall of Dylan's very first design. I also tried to make the legs more aligned.

I need lots and lots and LOTS of critique here. The more I get, the closer I'll get to actually finishing the character and being happy with it's design.

So here's what I need from you. You can do one, part, or all of these, I don't care. I just need something. ;)

- ANY AND ALL CRITIQUE NO MATTER HOW SMALL!
- What you liked and/or didn't like about any of the above drawings or the previous iterations of the character.
- Advice and ideas on how to make this a more complete design.
- Advice on my technique. Is it sound? Did I skip something? Am I doing something wrong?
- Your honest opinion.
- Your comments. You don't have to critique but they would still be greatly appreciated. :)

Feel free to redline, edit, and note the heck out of anything here, but Dylan still belongs to me so NO STEALING!

Thanks in advance to any and all who comment/critique this. :)

Very good artwork, dude.  That's all I can say on the matter.  Like the design the most.
