Dylan's Bones of Structure by McKnackus Dylan's Bones of Structure by McKnackus
Someone mentioned that it felt like I didn't have a very good grasp on the inner skeletal structure of the drawing, and he'd be right, so I did got out some references of Armadillo skeletons and came up with this.

This really does help a lot actually, especially with the legs and arms. Before this. the legs were pretty nebulous to me, so having this skeleton should help me figure out where it should go in a 3D space.

Comments and Criticism please. :D

I've found drawing the skeletal structure really helps proportion characters better (Espeically humans). My favorite drawings I've done started with a complete skeleton first. It looks very well done accentuating where there is a lack of bone. Cool jazz.

Drylan bones.
Man I don't even think some of my main characters HAVE bones...
Well, at least we know he's not big-boned!
I do not even know what to actually say.

Yeah, I've found that picturing a character's skeleton helps with designing body postures.

I've been thinking of drawing my character's skeleton, but decided against it.

No idea. Figured that uploading a character's anatomical data was a little weird.

I'll resurrect the idea as a possibility now that I see it isn't so strange.

Dang you got pretty detailed with Dylan's inner structure. o__0; I don't even think I could do that, no seriously. To have to remember that for every single pose you do is tons of work, but hey...this shows you're really taking Dylan far more seriously than you ever have before, so that's a good thing to show off to your viewers and fans. Excellent line work going on there dude, keep it up. :)

Thanks, but I'm definitely not going to be doing this for every drawing. =p

This is more to get a baseline idea of the skeleton, so I can keep it in mind and reference it for any future drawings of this design. I'll probably be dumbing it down to a simple stick figure/pose drawing with just lines and joints, but having this will help me understand the structure on a deeper level. :)

Oh okay, phew. o.o; I couldn't honestly imagine one person trying to go by that method...each and every single time. :faint:

Good to hear you still keeping it simple. =P
